Promosso e trasferito a Roma per impedirgli di indagare su alcuni casi di corruzione nell'esercito il maggiore
dei paracadutisti Paolo Altieri sventa il sequestro di un bambino, ma subisce un violento pestaggio da parte dei
banditi. In quell'occasione egli s'accorge che i malviventi si sono serviti di un mitra in dotazione sperimentale dei
paracadutisti. Divenuto amico e collaboratore di un commissario di polizia, Tosi, col quale partecipa ad alcune azioni
contro la malavita Altieri - che il suo diretto superiore ha intanto costretto a dimettersi dall'Arma, per aver
picchiato un ufficiale - scopre finalmente (dopo essere scampato a numerosi attentati, durante uno dei quali, però,
perisce la sua fidanzata), il responsabile del losco "affare dei mitra": un insospettabile industriale, l'avvocato
Vieri, che si è comperato la complicità di alti ufficiali coinvolti in un folle piano eversivo per rovesciare la
democrazia. Affrontato Vieri, l'ex maggiore lo uccide, ma muore a sua volta colpito, per un equivoco, proprio da
Tosi.



Promoted and transferred to Rome to prevent him from investigating some cases of corruption in the army, the
major paratroopers Paolo Altieri foils the kidnapping of a child, but suffers a violent beating by bandits. On that
occasion he realizes that the criminals have used a miter supplied with experimental paratroopers. He became a friend
and collaborator of a police commissioner, Tosi, with whom he participated in some actions against the Altieri
underworld - that his direct superior has meanwhile forced to resign from the Arma, for beating an officer - he finally
discovers (after escaping to numerous attacks, during one of which, however, perish his girlfriend), the person in
charge of the shady "deal of machine guns": an unsuspected industrial, the lawyer Vieri, who bought the complicity of
senior officers involved in a crazy subversive plan to overthrow democracy. Faced with Vieri, the former major kills
him, but dies in turn, due to a misunderstanding, just from Tosi.
